Who we are

SUNANDBASS is the original drum and bass holiday. It all started in 2003 with two of us working summer jobs in Sardinia. Loving the place so much, we wanted to stay and find a way to combine it with our love for drum and bass. What begun as a small beach party with friends, grew year by year into the festival it is today, largely just by word of mouth.

In 2018 we will proudly stage our 15th edition. We're looking back at the amazing journey of 14 years of annual meetings, own releases, on-off party nights to reunite and even tour dates oversees. Until today regulars and newcomers are happy to join the SUNANDBASS community. From so many different places joiners and creators are traveling to our week in Sardinia experiencing the best the genre has to offer. For many SUNANDBASS is considered the highlight of the year. Being as much a holiday for the artists, as for the festival goers. The camaraderie between the artists, crew and fans, brings to life an incredible community spirit.

As a festival run by music lovers, SUNANDBASS aims to bring a vibrant and diverse array of international musical talent to the lineup every year. You can expect to hear most of the scenes biggest DJ's line up alongside the genres freshest ground-breaking new artists. The introduction of the curator nights in 2014 has also added a special touch, allowing the DJ's to break out of the confines of playing for a label, and to play for a team, bringing their true sound for both the clubbers and the artists. This is where the DJ's come to listen to their peers, and the crowd of connoisseurs is always on top form.

What makes SUNANDBASS so unique, is that it is much more than just a festival. The island of Sardinia provides all the ingredients for a relaxing holiday. The effects of the previous night's cocktails can be left to fade away on the sandy beaches the next day, or while exploring the island's villages, mountains and Sardinian culture. The special thing about staying in the town of San Teodoro is the intimate, but also independent feel it gives. It is just as easy to do your own thing, as it is to go out and meet new, like-minded people around the town, easily spotted by their SUNANDBASS festival wristbands.

SUNANDBASS events are held in different locations around San Teodoro, such as the amazing Bal Harbour, with it's vivid blue pool surrounded by palm trees, or the iconic Ambra Night, divided into two dance floors, that brings with it the most intense and energetic atmosphere, to the stunning La Cinta beach, with its endless white sand and breath-taking view of Isola Tavolara. And the week wouldn't be complete without the hidden secret location...
